Manufactured homes in California are a big business.  After all, they are much less expensive than the brick and mortar homes that have become the standard in the home building industry.  Add to this the fact that the California housing boom has driven up the cost of the average single family dwelling to stellar heights and you can quickly ascertain why those who cannot afford that much mortgage with their home will quickly opt for the less expensive options.
