One of the main reasons to consider modular log homes over traditional log homes is the cost.  Because they are most cost effective for the manufacturer, they pass that savings on to the customer.  Modular log homes are more cost efficient than traditional homes because they are assembled indoors (which prevents weather related delays), the materials are bought on a large scale (so manufacturers can get them at a lower rate), and there is less waste (because manufacturers are more knowledgeable of exactly what material is needed and how much).
